> You look around town and the surrounding area...

Want to know about your surroundings? Here's everything you need to know about Inaba and its surrounding areas!

>Inaba.

An overview of Inaba
A: Yasogami High School
B: Junes Department Store
C: Samegawa Floodplain/Riverbank
D: Central Shopping District
E: Residential Area

Residential Area

The main housing area for most Inaba residents. It's very quiet on most days. The only exceptions are the cicadas in the summers, barking dogs, and of course, gossping housewives. If you listen carefully, you may overhear them talking about you and your friends, regardless of how well you know them.

Samegawa Flood Plain / Samegawa Riverbank

A main pathway through town, the Flood Plain in located in the school zone. It connects the residential district to the schools in the area, including Yasogami High School. Many people come here to walk their dogs or take a stroll. There's a gazebo, and at the foot of the plains, there is an entrance to the riverbank. Another quiet area, there's a small clearing, rocks that make up a pier, where some will fish. There's a path of rocks that connect to the other side of the river. In the summer months, many will come to this area to go swimming.

Central Shopping District: South End.

The Central Shopping District is Inaba's main hub. It's a central passage through the town, as well as the location of many important places to the residents of Inaba. It's split into two main portions: South End and North End. Locations in the South End include:

Bus Stop: At the far south end; stops along the route include Yasoinaba Station, Inaba Municipal Hospital, and the hill the overlooks town. Terminates in Okina City.
Moel Gas: The town's only gas station. Most of the employees are part-timers, occasionally they will hire outsiders to work there. The only notable employee is a very friendly man. He's quick to shake hands with guests, but is generally only seen working when it's raining.
Yomenaido Bookstore: A standard book store. They get new releases of popular series every few weeks, but be aware! Their stock is limited. If there's a book you want, you'd better get it fast, or you may not see it again while in Inaba.
Daidara Metalworks: Daidara himself calls it art. Everyone else calls it weapons, armor and accessories that are more than just cool to look at. They'll help you survive in the other world. Bring him dropped items from the enemies you defeat, and you may find yourself with some customized "art."
Velvet Room entrance: A blue door, located just outside of Daidara Metalworks. It's only visible to those who carry the Wild Card ability.
Marukyu Tofu: A small tofu shop, run by the Kujikawa family. On any given day, you can find Rise's grandmother selling a variety of tofu products. It also serves as the home of Rise Kujikawa.
Shiroku Store: A convenience store of sorts, run by old lady Shiroku. In addition to a variety of snacks, she also sells items that can heal various ailments in the TV world. She holds sales with deep discounts on rainy days. Outside her store is a pair of capsule machines -- only on rainy days can you get the lever to turn. It tends to get stuck, but calling out the old lady will usually get you both the capsule item and an additional gift.

Central Shopping District: North End.

The Central Shopping District is Inaba's main hub. It's a central passage through the town, as well as the location of many important places to the residents of Inaba. It's split into two main portions: South End and North End. Locations in the North End include:

Chinese Diner Aiya: A delicious Chinese resturant and frequent hangout of Kou Ichijo, Daisuke Nagase, and Naoki Konishi. The variety of dishes are very filling, and often, you'll learn something about yourself from eating there. Maybe you've gained the courage to try new things, or maybe you've become more diligent and knowledgeable in approaching how to finish the endless beef on your plate. Either way, it's always a learning experience. If you visit on a rainy day, you can take the massive beef bowl challenge for a price of ¥3,000.
Souzai Daigaku: A small food stand, spealizing it steak dishes, including skewers and croquettes. Reasonably priced and delicious!
Bulletin Board: Located next to Souzai Daigaku, local part-time job opportunities are often posted here.
Tatsuhime Shrine: An old shrine that's recently been revitalized. The only real upkeep comes from the Fox and his family, who will prod you to help fill ema requests that are left there. Doing so gains monetary offerings, which the Fox likes. Helping him will help you in the long run; fulfilling side-missions will deepen your bond with him, in turn, his prices for SP restoration will decrease with time.
Tatsumi Textiles: A textile shop run by the Tatsumi family. In addition to their primary business, Kanji Tatsumi also holds a class on Sundays, usually teaching kids how to make dolls and puppets.
Konshi Liquors: A liquor store run by the Konishi family. Naoki works here, but be warned -- if you're under the age of twenty, nobody will sell you any alcohol.

In addition to these locations, within the shopping district, there are two mailboxes (one in the north end and one in the south end), as well as a few abandoned buildings (formerly smaller shops: the hobby shop, the barber shop, the bicycle store, etc.).

Junes Department Store

Gaining a massive reputation in Inaba, Junes is the only chain store in the town. It is large, akin to something like Wal-Mart. They sell a wide variety of things, including clothing, groceries, furniture and electronics, as well as having a large food court. The store is managed by Yosuke Hanamura's father; Yosuke and Teddie both work in the store as well. There's a large TV in the rarely-frequented electronics department that serves as the primary entrance to the TV world. And don't forget two things: Every day is customer appreciation day there, and of course ♫ Every day's great at your Junes! Unless you're the owner of a smaller business, and then you're liable to believe Junes is the root of all evil. Many of the locals will gossip and talk about those who work and shop there alike.

Yasogami High School

While there are a number of other schools in the area, Yasogami High School is the closest to the heart of the town. It's the school the better part of school-aged NPCs attend, and a primary focal point of the town, given how a handful of its students had ties to the murder and kidnapping cases that plagued the town last year. As far as it goes, it's a very run-of-the-mill. The main building consists of three floors (one for each grade level, as well as assorted offices) and an accessible roof, as well as a secondary building. The Practice Building is two floors that hold Yasogami's extra-curricular rooms. There's also an outdoor field, where many of the sports teams both practice and play.

Other Inaba Locations

Amagi Inn

A famous hot-springs resort, located near the outskirts of town. It's personalized service, long-standing history and connection to previous cases has only solidifed its place as one of Japan's most famous onsen. It's very spacious, and following arrival, all outsiders will be permitted to stay at the Inn until they've gotten more settled and can find places to live of their own. Be cautious, though - hospitality only goes so far, and abusing that will land you without a home. Respect your location and well as the staff. You really don't want to make Yukiko Amagi angry.

Inaba Municipal Hospital

If ever you find yourself or someone you know injured, this is the place to go. Hopefully, the only time you'll find yourself here is if you choose to take a job as a janitor.

Yasoinaba Station

The train station in town, though you won't have many reasons to go here. You can get to Okina city this way - it's quicker than the bus, though more expensive. It's also the link to bigger cities: Iwatodai and Sumaru are the closest of the big cities; but really, you've got plenty to worry about it Inaba before you'll really have the time or money to take a lengthy trip out of town anyway.

Inaba Police Department

Every town has its law enforcement, and Inaba is no exception. The station is relatively small, but it's all business here. A few cells, should you get yourself in trouble. Don't expect to be let off the hook so easily, either. The town is still somewhat on edge from learning that one of Inaba PD's own detectives was a murderer leaves the entire department with something to prove. You'll often find Ryotaro Dojima here, and on days where there's no school, Naoto Shirogane as well.

>Okina City.

A modestly-sized city, there are plenty of places to go, and even more to work. There's shopping, eateries, movie theatres, clubs; if you can imagine it, it's here. Okina City is located about an hour from Inaba by train and about two hours by bus. It should be noted that some primary NPCs can be found here if sought out in the right location. Most notably is the Okina City Penitentiary, where Tohru Adachi is currently incarcerated.

>TV World
The TV world can be entered via any TV in Inaba if you have the ability to do so (meaning those who have awaked their Persona, or are with someone who has done so). Entering at any location aside from the TV in the Junes electronics department will absolutely nullfiy any guarantees for your character's safety. More often than not, it will cause a new area to form, a reality based on the one who lands there. It's eerie, foggy, and will contain many elements of one's repressed feelings. However, entering through the appropriate location will gain you access to all of the known dungeons, which you can explore at your leisure. The following locations are currently known; more will be added as they are accessed in-game.

Yukiko's Castle
Kanji's Steamy Bathhouse
Rise's Marukyu Striptease
Mitsuo's Void Quest
Naoto's Secret Laboratory
Nanako's Heaven
Adachi's Magatsu Inaba
Twisted Shopping District

Though they are accessible and normal shadows will appear (and attack, if you've awakened your Persona), it will not be explicitly obvious to those who don't know who brought those realities into existence. Who it becomes known to will be at the discretion of the individual characters.
