The reason why The Answer isn't canon is because we feel it serves as an epilogue to Persona 3, much in the way that the True Ending of Persona 4 does. It gives closure to the series in a way that we feel would interfere with our plans in certain situations. Persona 3, including both protagonists, Metis and the Velvet Room assistants will all play a part in the plot later on. However, before we can do that, we have to establish many other things.
It's because of the way those things will tie into the plot that separates her from Ryoji/Pharos. They are catalysts, namely Ryoji, along with the previous P4 events that are supposed to be considered a draw to bring more P3 characters to Inaba (in the future, and provided the SEES members communicated, which was part of the intent). While we can see how there could be misunderstanding about this, we never had any intent of dictating the reasons why P3 characters would come to Inaba if they were still present within the world; it came off as entirely too stifling when there's a two year gap of time. We felt it was better to give each individual player the freedom to decide that in correlation with the time-skip. We also don't have any intent of revealing the full extent of the P3-centric portion just yet, not when we're still in the process of establishing the base of the plot with the game. As we get closer to the revelation of the P3-centric plot, we have every intent of working closely with the cast to properly inform everyone of our plans, and of course, make tweaks as neccessary to accommadate as many needs as we can.
As for the e-mail situation, it was simply a last minute change of plans, and we can admit it was a faux pas on our part. What we were going to explain in that e-mail ended up going into the initial plot post; there were a handful of minor plot changes that would have made an e-mail explanation completely repetitive. We did state in all acceptances that a post would be going up for indroductions. We stated the date in NPC application acceptances and linked it in panfandom acceptances. We apologize if you did not see this information, but there's little we could do short of contacting everyone individually that a post was put up, and given the hectic state of things following acceptances, was a bit implausible.
We can only give our apologies in response to concerns that we are inconsistent or disorganized. We're constantly doing our best to make improvements, communicate better with players and potential players and stay organized. We're still young and new at taking on a job like this, and the game far exceeded our expectations in terms of size, leaving us in a constant state of change to make things smoother in the long run. We can easily admit that we are rough around the edges right now, and certainly not perfect, but have every intent to do our best - both for the game and the players in it.

We hope this clears up some of your concerns.
