> YOU REVIEW THE RULES.
1. No metagaming/infomoding. This is especially important in this game, which deals heavily in spoilers but also keeps certain things from the minds of those in game. The identities of who’s truly behind it all, the little details NPCs might know but newcomers might not... Please keep these things in mind when you play to avoid accidentally allowing your character to know too much too quickly without having learned of it in an IC way.
2. Play nice. (And no godmoding other player characters, which goes along with playing nice.) Ask players for permission before you do anything to another character, and if they say no, that is fine! Work with permissions! As well as permissions, be respectful to your fellow players. Remember this is a game, which means we’re all here to have fun.
3. No babies. Going along with Persona 4’s game rating, THIS GAME IS 16+. That is one year lower than the RPG rating of MATURE 17+, which we would like to stick to as close as possible. We intend for this game to remain as true to the original game while still being flexible for in-game shenanigans and allowing players to have fun with their own ideas as possible, and part of that intention is keeping an age limit due to the mature themes Shadows can deal with (among other reasons). Please keep in mind there is no IC age limit! Child characters can be played, and in fact, there is a seven-year-old NPC who will help them out as much as possible.
4. Activity Check. Activity checks will be run from the 1st to the 7th of every month for the month previous. For example, Activity check for the month of February would be held from March 1st to March 7th. Within a day of AC closing, a list will be provided with the names of characters who have not passed AC and these characters will be given a three day grace period during which they must provide proof of activity for the previous month or else be dropped from the game.
Players with less than the specified amount of activity for the month will be given a strike as long as they make the effort to reply with the activity they do have and the required HMD comment. Players must make sure to make AC with all their characters the following month or will be given a second strike, and will be asked to drop a character. Players who abuse the strike system to continuously avoid having to make AC may be confronted and told that they must make AC for a specified number of months in the future or else drop a character.
Given the nature of the game, different character types have slightly modified requirements. They are as follows:
FANDOM CHARACTERS / ORIGINAL CHARACTERS / FANDOM OCs / MINOR NPCS / ADACHI*: Two activity proofs + Monthly game-wide HMD link.
MAJOR NPCS (Including Investigation Team, SEES, DOJIMA, NANAKO): Three activity proofs + Monthly game-wide HMD link.
Activity proofs include:
If you are on hiatus, activity requirements are as follows:
FANDOM CHARACTERS / ORIGINAL CHARACTERS / FANDOM OCs / MINOR NPCS / ADACHI*:
• Two weeks or more: Exempt
• One week: One proof + HMD
MAJOR NPCS (Including Investigation Team, SEES, DOJIMA, NANAKO): Three activity proofs + Monthly game-wide HMD link.
• Three weeks: Exempt
• Two weeks: One proof + HMD
• One week: Two proofs + HMD
Using hiatus to pass activity check can only be done for two consecutive months. Trying to do so without speaking to a mod will lead to being dropped from the game following AC-period.
Players on hiatus should still reply to the Activity Check post stating that they were on hiatus.
* Re: Adachi's activity requirements, since he is currently holed up in prison and barred from most interactions with other characters, we have altered the rules somewhat and require only 2 proofs (instead of three) for this character. (new rule as of 2/23/12)
5. Participate in the game-wide HMD. HMDs will be posted monthly alongside the Activity Check and are a required part of the game. We expect that constructive criticism will be both dealt with and handled in a mature fashion; posting to this is required to make monthly activity.
6. Lock explicit content. If you want to thread or log anything of a sexual nature, please lock it to the community.
7. No fourth-walling without permission. This goes for everything, including the game's setting itself. For game-wide permission, everything about Persona 4's setting is absolutely Off Limits. For characters brought into the game, however, that's up to the individual players.
