In essence, yes, that's right. Much about the game's plot depends on the actions of the characters, NPCs and other characters alike. There is a slow build planned and though we understand wanting to know more about the overarching plot, much of the content and results of these plots depend on how characters deal with and react to them. In that vein, feel free to develop a post P3 Aigis however you see fit, but keep in mind those reactions to Metis that you've just outlined. If a Metis is apped, you may get to play that out but in a different setting than in the Answer. If she is not, whatever development Aigis undergoes is certainly up to you and need not be altered by Metis's introduction into the setting. We will never ask you to retcon any development in response to a plot.

Also, to clarify, the P3 characters are not meant to know that much. They currently don't know about the TV world, or that shadows can be found there, only that now some mysterious characters have appeared (Ryoji included! that should indicate that something definitely is fishy!), that the murders occurred about a year ago (if they were watching the news), and they should also be privy to any rumors mentioned in the day posts... but that's essentially it, at this point. What made each character decide to come to Inaba may be different. We don't want to dictate that, as we feel that would be god-modding your characters!

Again, we're sorry about the lack of NPC emails and we're aware that not receiving them when expected put a bit of stress upon players. We will certainly work in the future to be more vigilant about informing players of changes such as switching to using the intro post instead of emailing everyone individually to cut down on confusion and to facilitate ease of communication between players and mods.

So, to conclude... the plot is a slow work in progress that depends heavily upon player actions in the game. That is why we are hesitant to share many details at the moment. It's still very early to tell where things are going to end up and we don't want to make false promises and say "This is what is going to happen" when things in-game may change that.
