This is a list of all characters who have access to The Velvet Room or will have access in the near future. All Wild Card characters and characters with Velvet Room access from the first two Persona games should comment here with the following in order to be included on this list:

For characters who will be attending one of the three nearby schools, we ask that you fill out this form so your character can get a class assignment!

Here's the grade breakdown guide:

For High School, it's broken up into three years. Characters who will turn 16 this year are first years, 17 are second years, and 18 are third years.
Middle School: follows a similar format. Those who turn 13 are first years, 14 are second years, and 15 are third years.
Elementary School: is broken up into six years. Those who turn 7 this year are first years, 8 are second years, 9 are third years, 10 are fourth years, 11 are fifth years and 12 are sixth years.

We know that's a lot, so you can also refer to this handy wikipedia page for a chart!

For characters who are much older than they look, it's at the player's discretion to enroll them in school; bear in mind that if they can be perceived as school-aged, it's likely that someone may try to coerce them into doing so. What grade level they are enrolled in should be based on the age of their appearance!

So you've decided to bring in a character who can access the Velvet Room. These characters are fairly uncommon and are called "Wild Cards" due to their affinity to wield several Personas of every Major Arcana.

The Persona users of the first two Persona games can be considered partial Wild Cards and are also able to access the Velvet Room. They are only "partial" Wild Cards because they have different positive and negative affinities for Personas of different Arcanas, however in every other way they are nearly identical to the Wild Card Persona users of Personas 3 and 4.

For the first time, in the evening between the day change from Day 14 and Day 15 (March 5th, 2012 OOCly), all Wild Card characters (including characters from Persona 1 and Persona 2) will be able to access the Velvet Room through their dreams.

That exchange will commence as follows:

After this exchange, the very next day (or a little later, if it takes your character that long to visit the shopping district), your character will notice a blue door near the bookstore in the shopping district. He or she will step through and the following exchange will occur:

Basically, Igor will explain the concept of Personas (which your character, if they are from Persona 1 or Persona 2, may already be aware of). He will also explain social links, and further answer any questions your character may have at the time while still being incredibly vague and not helpful over-all. Just perfect, right?

This process will be repeated every app cycle. A day or two after arriving in Inaba, your Wild Card character will have the above Dream, and he/she will encounter the Velvet Room door in the shopping district shortly thereafter.

The Velvet Room door is always there! It will never disappear from this moment forth. Characters with the Wild Card ability are free to come and go as they please, alone or in groups. There will also be a door within the TV World near the Junes entrance.

A current list of Wild Card characters can be found here. All Wild Cards will have to sign up in order to be included on that list, including characters from the first two Persona games.

The Major Arcana of the Tarot is a very essential part of the Persona series; each Arcana represents core traits, both for Personae as well as the people who inhibit the world. Every bond you forge with another character will have ties to a specific Arcana. Here, we've provided that list, as well as resources to help you decide (or further research) the various Arcana!

It's good to note that we've provided links both to the Megami Tensei wiki and Wikipedia, if for nothing more than the SMT/Persona interpretations of Arcana are modified quite a bit from the traditional Tarot. To reserve, fill out the following form as is (don't change the coding!) and comment to this entry. You may reserve up to two characters per app cycle (one if you're apping an NPC). Reserves will be open full-time. They will last the duration of the app cycle; if a character is reserved, challenge apps will not be reviewed until the reserver(s) submit their apps. Both application and reserve challenges are permitted. This is not a first-come, first-served process - all potential players should keep in mind that we are looking to give everyone a fair chance.

Here is where you'll find the form for fandom applications, as well as submissions of both fandom and original character applications.

Guidelines for submission!

• Please do not submit applications until we indicate that applications are open.
• The subject line of your application should be as follows: CHARACTER NAME | CANON (ORIGINAL CHARACTER) | RESERVED/NOT RESERVED
• At this time, you may apply for two characters per application cycle, and a total of four characters per player. Each player is permitted to app one NPC. Applying for an NPC counts towards your total character count, keep in mind!
• Reserves are not required. If a non-reserve challenges a reserve, the reserve will be judged first.
• Applications will open at 12:00AM EST on the last Saturday of each month, and remain open until 11:59PM on the first Friday of each month. Dates for each cycle will be clearly labeled in this post.
• Acceptances will be handed out simultaneously following the closure of the app cycle, to ensure everyone looking to apply has a fair chance at the character they're interested in.
• Revision requests will be explained as clearly as possible. Those who plan on following through with a revision request will have one week from the date the request is made. We will do our best to respond to your revision as quickly as possible. Should there be any questions regarding revisions/requests, we will gladly explain further. Please contact us if you wish to do so.
• Just as a quick note, the mods would prefer players post their applications in the comments themselves rather than linking. It makes the process smoother for us!
• HAVE FUN! That's our primary goal here, after all!

Procedures for app processing:
• No acceptances or rejections will be handed out prior to the end of any given app cycle. They will be sent out simultaneously once all apps have been reviewed.
• Revisions will be requested upon reviewing of application. Those looking to submit revisions will have one week from the time of the request to do so. Should the revisions be submitted before the end of the app cycle, they will be processed alongside all other acceptances and rejections.

Guidelines for NPC applications!

• NPC characters have a stricter Activity Check format than that of other character types. Please be sure to review the Rules and FAQ for more information -- NPCs are not exempt from activity requirements!
• Hiatused, dropped, or unapped NPCs will be played by the mods if the situation calls for it. Please be aware, while we will not have access to your account, we do have accounts for these situations. We will only do so if it is necessary for moving plots, overarching or otherwise. There is absolutely no intent on stepping on current or potential players toes with this.
• You do not have to have an existing character to app an NPC.
• If you are apping an NPC at any point in the month, you will only be permitted to app one fandom/original character in the following application cycle.
• NPC applications are always open. We will not hold reserves! However the process is not first-come, first-served either and will be judged strictly on the understanding of the character as well as voice strength.
• Please be sure to also read the STANDARD APPLICATION PAGE for all guidelines.

Due to the plot-heavy nature of the game, a wide range of the characters from Persona 4 are considered to be major NPCs. Anyone may apply for them, however, those who do must keep in mind that they will have to commit time to the plot and work closely with the moderators in order to keep plots running smoothly. Below is an overview of the roles many of the Persona 4 characters will play in relation to the plot:

( PERSONA 4 NPCs. )

( VELVET ROOM NPCs )

Persona 3 characters harbor a similar role. Living P3 characters will arrive to Inaba via train - further detail on this will be distributed upon character's acceptance. They will be able to summon their Personae just as they could before; Caligo will not change the nature of their summoning. Deceased characters will arrive via the fog, much like original characters and panfandom characters. They will be used as a draw for the P3 characters to Inaba. Though their roles as NPCs are considered to be significantly less strenuous than that of the P4 characters, they are still extremely integral to Caligo's plot. Please keep this in mind if you're interested in applying for any NPC character!

( PERSONA 3 NPCs )

The following characters are unable to be apped at Caligo. There are a variety of reasons for this, ranging from canon mechanics to future plots. They are as follows:

Any characters not listed above are still, of course, playable in the game, though their roles will serve a different purpose. Please contact the mods if you have any questions regarding either applying for an NPC or an unlisted Persona 3/4 character!

Please note that Persona 4 characters who are currently not being played by others will be active as mod-controlled NPCs in the interim!
